Frequently Asked Questions
What is MNHBP?
MNHBP is a Minnesota trade association for hemp beverage manufacturers and Minnesota-made beverage brands. We focus on legislative and regulatory advocacy, along with education and coordination among producers.
Who can become a Voting Member?
Voting Members are Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management (OCM)–licensed low-potency hemp edible manufacturers that produce hemp beverages in Minnesota.
Who can become an Associated Member?
Associated Members are hemp beverage brands made in Minnesota that are sponsored by a Voting Member manufacturer confirming Minnesota production.
Do all members get a vote?
Each Voting Member company receives one vote. Associated Members do not vote but may participate in meetings and advocacy efforts.
How are member dues used?
Dues fund MNHBP operations, including legislative and regulatory advocacy, communications, and coordination. A portion may support lobbying; members receive annual notice of any non-deductible lobbying share.
Does MNHBP work on federal issues?
Our primary focus is Minnesota law and regulation. We engage on federal matters when they directly affect Minnesota hemp beverage producers, typically through Minnesota’s delegation and state-level advocacy.
